I’m Dan Weldon and I’m running for Congress because the American Dream is under attack.
For generations, that dream meant something real. If you worked hard, played by the rules, and took responsibility for your family, you could build a life you were proud of. You could afford a home. You could find a good-paying job. You could raise kids without feeling like the deck was stacked against you.
That promise is slipping away.
Washington has been captured. Captured by special interests. Captured by unelected bureaucrats. Captured by big-money donors who always seem to benefit, no matter who is hurting. Instead of defending the American Dream, too many politicians have gotten comfortable and stopped listening to the people back home. They have forgotten that a whole generation is coming into the workforce with no chance of meeting the American Dream like their parents did.
You see the results everywhere.
Families are being priced out of the housing market. Good-paying jobs are shipped overseas while politicians look the other way. Raising a family has become harder and more expensive and Washington just keeps on keeping on like nothing is wrong. Meanwhile, the same career politicians make the same promises every election cycle and never deliver.
That’s not leadership. That’s ignorance. That's complacency. That's un-American.
Right now, despite relentless resistance from the political class, Donald Trump is fighting the swamp to keep the American Dream alive. He’s taking on the interests that profit from a captured system and putting America and Americans first. That fight matters, but it doesn’t stop at the White House.
Tampa deserves a congressman who will stand with that effort and bring it home. Someone who will support the fight for the American Dream and make sure it actually benefits the people who live here. Someone who understands that America First doesn’t start in Washington. It starts in our communities.
That’s why we’re launching this campaign.
I believe our congressman should answer to the people who live here, who work here, and who raise their families here. Not to party leadership, donors, or Washington lobbyists. Every election cycle, voters are told to be patient while career politicians protect their own power. But we won’t take back Washington until we change the people we send there.
This campaign is about doing exactly that.
So, if you’re tired of politics as usual, tired of being ignored, and ready to take back what belongs to the people, I’m asking you to join us.
Are you willing to stand up for the American Dream and fight for it?
